So true but interesting how quickly relationships can turn around with some work,. Changing up routines and surprise dates is what I started doing. There's always something new to learn about the person in your life. Also, don't forget to keep your own individuality! We will never wear matching sweatshirts!
Exactly! The work doesn't have to be dramatic, just intentional. Breaking small routines, trying new things together, staying curious about each other. And yes, maintaining your own identity is crucial. Too much togetherness without individuality kills attraction. You need space to grow separately so you have something new to bring back to the relationship. Matching sweatshirts are definitely out haha.
Thanks for sharing what's working for you, love hearing real examples of people actively fighting the drift.
Such an important article! We have to keep nurturing our relationships if we want them to continue growing in depth and love. Implementing these into my own relationship of almost three years has helped us maintain our spark.
I’m happy to hear that. Many people take their relationship for granted, but it takes continuous work to maintain that spark. It’s wonderful that you’re aware of this and actively do something to counter hedonic adaptation.
